Choose God

Life is full of decisions. Decision that can either make or break you, build or destroy your destiny, lift or tear down the person God created you to be, what do you choose? In a world full of chaos, misplaced identity, stony hearts, frivolity and lustful, fleshly desires, as a Christians how do you remain rooted and grounded in God when your attention and affection is being pulled in so may directions?

Daily, life and death, blessings and curses, good and evil, truth and lies are placed before us and God in His infinite love and mercy gives us free will; the opportunity to choose but we’re advised and warned to be sober [well balanced and self- disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times because that enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8 AMP). We are reminded that our choices have consequences,.

Choosing God at times can be painful because it requires self denial, separation, sacrifice and following instructions that often times make no logical sense but it is always better to be aligned with His will and living out God's divine purpose than wondering about aimlessly in the hand of the enemy, battered, bruised, and tormented in our minds, spirits and souls with a one way ticket to hell's fire.

According to James 4:4 whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Why make yourself an enemy to the One who is able to destroy both body and soul and whose breath we're reliant on? Don't be deceived by the offerings of the world and the enemy; do not throw away permanent rest for your soul for temporary pleasures. The Lord did not promise us smoothe roads and sunny skies but at the end of this life if we ran the race, kept the faith, fought and carried out God's mission and mandate then we'll hear well done and receive our crown of glory.

Choose you this day who you will serve; if Baal be god serve Him and if the eternal God of heaven be the Lord over your life then serve Him. Don’t be a double minded servant who is unstable in all of your ways. Choose the better part; choose life, choose Christ, choose to be about your Father’s business, choose to dwell in the secret place, choose to let our light shine for God’s glory. Choose God.
