Sanctuary City: PAJE’s Mission to Restore and Rebuild Jamaica through Faith, Compassion, and Action

There’s so much happening in our world today. Crises, loss, and uncertainty seem to touch every corner of life and our world. Yet, for years, our hearts at PAJE Media Group have been burdened by one particular reality — the many people and situations that fall through the cracks right here in our own Jamaican society.

Then came Hurricane Melissa.

Its arrival wasn’t just another storm; it became a mirror reflecting how fragile life can be, and how deep the long-term impact of devastation runs — not only on homes and livelihoods but also on hearts and minds, the ability to progress, and so much more. When we thought about the years it will take to recover, to rebuild, and to restore, even after the initial relief efforts, we felt a divine stirring.

This hurricane was the final nudge from God — the trigger that made us realize it was time to act on a vision that has quietly lived in the hearts of our Founder and our Director for years.

Moving Beyond Digital: Birth of a Mission Arm

At PAJE, we’ve always believed in using creativity and media to make a difference — to inspire, to tell stories, to build hope. But we began to see that our impact needed to go beyond the digital space. Beyond the nice posts. Beyond awareness.

We needed to become the hands and feet of Christ in tangible, lasting ways.

That conviction birthed Sanctuary City — the official Missions Arm of PAJE Media Group.

Our Foundation

Rooted in Matthew 5:14–16 and guided by the parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1–13), Sanctuary City exists to be the light of Christ in Jamaica — a light that shines not just through words but through practical action.

We believe we are called to pour out the oil that God has entrusted to us — wisdom, creativity, resources, compassion — into the lives of others, so that they too can rise, be restored, and become lights in their own circles of influence.

Our Mission

Sanctuary City is not a short-term project or a disaster-response effort — it’s a long-term movement dedicated to rebuilding lives and communities from the inside out. While we are deeply committed to contributing to rescue and relief initiatives when crises arise, our true focus lies in empowering people and communities to thrive beyond survival.

To that end, our first phase will focus on six key areas that represent both immediate needs and sustainable transformation:

Education in Communication – Empowering people with the ability to express, connect, and lead through language and creativity. This will see the provision of Scholarships, Grants, Workshops & Classes focusing on Phonics, English Language, Communication Studies & Public Speaking

Digital Skills Training – Equipping individuals with the skills needed to participate in and benefit from the global digital economy. We will particularly focus on providing Classes, Workshops, Grants & Scholarships for Website Development, Social Media Management, Content Creation, Computer Science & Data/Information Security

Shelter – Visiting & supporting safe spaces and rebuilding initiatives for vulnerable families and individuals.

Mental Health – Offering care, counseling, and community programs that address trauma, anxiety, loneliness and hope restoration.

Holistic Wellness – Promoting balance in mind, body, soul and spirit through nutrition, movement, and Christianity-based wholeness though the execution of group & solo retreats, fitness initiatives, ministry events, and more

Food Security & Creativity – Partnering to ensure consistent access to healthy, nourishing food for those in need, and promoting a creative avenue for expression through creative cooking.

Each focus area reflects our belief that true restoration must be holistic — tending to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of every person, and while these activities don't look natively like other 'types' of missions, they have been carefully selected to allow for each individual to engage Sanctuary City, to feel poured into and empowered to walk anew.

A Vision in Phases

The Lord has given us a phase-by-phase vision for Sanctuary City — a roadmap that we will walk out prayerfully, strategically, and purposefully. We understand this is a marathon, not a sprint, and so we begin Phase 1 with humility, faith, and focus.

Some initiatives will be native to Sanctuary City, while others will come through partnerships with organizations and individuals who share our heart for restoration. In every effort, we aim to be a reflection of Christ’s light, compassion, and excellence.

A Kingdom Partnership

Going forward, a portion of every dollar spent with PAJE Media Group will contribute in part to the work of Sanctuary City and the vision God has entrusted to us. Meanwhile, we also now have an avenue for direct donations with quarterly reports so that you know what your money is going towards.

When you engage PAJE — whether through our creative services, campaigns, or collaborations — you’re not just supporting a business; you’re sowing into the rebuilding of lives and communities across Jamaica.

This marks the beginning of something far greater than ourselves — the start of a mission that intertwines faith, creativity, and compassion.

Sanctuary City stands as a declaration that Jamaica can heal, that light still shines in dark times, and that through Christ, rest, restoration and redemption is possible.
