“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised.”— Psalm 56:3-4
Fear is a very real and often unavoidable part of life. Whether it’s fear of the unknown, fear of failure, or fear that things won’t change, we all encounter moments when anxiety creeps in and peace feels distant. But in Psalm 56:3-4, David gives us a simple yet powerful response to fear: trust.

The second part of the verse is key: “I praise God for what He has promised.” Praise becomes the antidote to panic. Reminding ourselves of God’s promises — His faithfulness, protection, presence, and love — realigns our hearts and strengthens our faith. What God has said, He will do. And in that truth, even the most fearful heart can find courage.
So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed today, remember: you don’t have to wait until the fear disappears to trust God. Like David, you can trust Him in the middle of fear — and that trust will steady you.
