"Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you."— Psalm 9:10 (NIV)
There’s something powerful about truly knowing someone's name — not just how to pronounce it, but what it represents. In biblical times, a name carried weight. It spoke of character, history, and authority. So when David declares in Psalm 9:10 that those who know God's name trust Him, he’s pointing to something deeper than just belief — he’s talking about relationship and experience.

To “know” God’s name is to understand who He is: Faithful. Righteous. Merciful. Provider. Healer. Refuge. The more intimately we walk with Him, the more reasons we find to trust Him. We don’t rely on a distant, unknowable deity — we rely on a personal, present God who has proven Himself time and again.
David goes even further by grounding this trust in a promise that holds strong through every generation: "You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you." That’s not wishful thinking or an empty religious phrase — it’s truth built on real-life experiences. Look through the pages of Scripture and history, and you’ll see it: every person who genuinely sought God, no matter how broken or unqualified, found Him faithful.
And what about today? In a world where abandonment, betrayal, and inconsistency are all too common, this verse is an anchor. God doesn’t forget. He doesn’t abandon. He doesn’t change His mind. If you are seeking Him — even in weakness or confusion — you are seen, known, and held.
So take comfort in this today: If you know His name, you can trust His heart. And when you seek Him, you will never be alone — not for a moment.
