“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”— Isaiah 26:3–4 (ESV)
We all long for peace — not just the absence of conflict, but deep, unwavering calm in the midst of life’s pressures. In Isaiah 26:3–4, God offers something extraordinary: not just peace, but perfect peace. And He tells us exactly where it comes from — a mind that is fixed on Him, and a heart that trusts in Him fully.

The word “stayed” in this context means “anchored,” “firmly fixed,” or “steadfast.” It’s not a passive glance at God now and then, but an active choice to direct our thoughts, attention, and confidence toward Him — especially when life feels unpredictable. When our minds are set on His truth and His promises, our hearts are kept steady. Why? Because our trust isn't based on temporary feelings — it’s rooted in the eternal character of God, our Rock.
The verse closes with this command: “Trust in the Lord forever.” Not just when it’s easy. Not just when the answers are clear. Forever. This kind of trust is a daily, sometimes hourly decision. And it’s not blind — it’s built on the track record of a faithful God who never fails.
So if you're in a season where peace feels out of reach — overwhelmed, anxious, or weary — come back to the Source. Shift your focus. Fix your thoughts on God, not the storm. Anchor your mind in His promises and trust Him with the unknown. He’s not just a rock — He is the everlasting Rock, strong enough to carry you through every high and low.
Let Isaiah 26:3–4 remind you today: perfect peace is possible — when your mind is stayed on Him
